Nuberu
Nuberu is a circular yoke sweater with stranded colourwork and it’s knitted from the top down. The yoke is very easy – only one contrasting colour and one type of increase. This is an oversized sweater with a positive ease between 15-25 cm / 6-10” (shown in the photo with 25 cm / 10” positive ease). Nuberu means black cloud in the dialect spoken in the northern Spanish region where I was born.
MATERIALS
- 4.5 mm (US 7) circular needles. Adjust if necessary to achieve gauge – see below. If you tend to knit colourwork a bit tight, you should go up a needle size for that section.
- 4 mm (US 6) circular needles or a size smaller than the main needles for the ribbing. Markers, tapestry needle and waste yarn or extra cables to put the sleeve stitches on hold.
SIZES
1 (2, 3, 4) (5, 6, 7) (8, 9)
How to choose your size: measure your bust circumference, add the ease recommended below (i.e. 15-25 cm / 6-10 inches) and find the “finished circumference at bust” measurement below that is closest to that figure. Make sure your gauge matches the one given below to ensure your finished garment will be the same dimensions.
