Nahia

Nahia is a simple stranded colourwork hat, perfect for those who want to try this technique. It only has two colours and there are never more than three stitches before colours, so you don’t need to worry about catching floats at the back. The pattern repeat is also very easy to memorise. This makes it a perfect pattern for beginners in this technique.

MATERIALS

• 3.5 mm (US 4) and 4 mm (US 6) circular needles , 40 cm / 16" long. For the smallest size, or the crown decreases in all sizes, you may need to change to DPNs (double pointed needles) or use the magic loop method.
• Markers, tapestry needle
  
• Optional (for the pompom): Clover pompom maker

YARN

DK yarn in two colours. I used Drops Lima.

• Colour A: for the ribbing and pattern. 25 (29, 33, 37, 40, 42) m
  
• Colour B: for the main body/crown. 25 (29, 33, 37, 41, 43) m

Optional for the pompom: approx. 18 m (9g) for a 65mm diameter pompom or 26 m (13g) for an 85mm pompom.

SIZES

0-3 months (3-6 months, 6-12 months, 1-3 years, 4-10 years, adult)

GAUGE

22 stitches and 30 rounds in 10 cm in stockinette stitch
